A visit to Post Office

‘I Hear and I Forget. I See and I Remember. I Do and I Understand.’

At DPS Lava, students acquire skills, knowledge and experience both inside and outside the traditional academic classroom setting. A field trip to the Post Office at the Ordnance Factory on 8th February 2018 was one such experience for the students of Grade III.
Students saw postcards, inland letters, aerogramme, envelopes and stamps of various denominations. The Post Master informed them that post offices inIndia offer varied services. Apart from all mail related services such as acceptance and delivery of letters and parcels, the sale of postage stamps and speed post services, post offices also offer additional services like providing and accepting Government forms (eg. Passport applications) processing Government services and fees (eg. Road tax) and banking services.

The teacher shared several amazing facts about the Indian Postal Service with the students. The field trip gave the children an unforgettable experience. In the words of Albert Einstein, "Learning is an experience. Everything else is just
information."
