Celebration of French Day
The academic curriculum from Grade V to Grade VIII includes the study of a third language. At DPS Lava, students get to choose from Marathi, Sanskrit and French. Students of Grades V and VI, who have opted for French, presented the morning assembly in French!
French is one of the toughest languages to speak and write. It is the official language in 29 countries, across 5 continents. It is the sixth most spoken language in the world and the second most studied language worldwide.
The Assembly began with a thought that highlighted how any recipe for success must have three main ingredients –Patience, Persistence and Perspiration. This was followed by a news capsule that updated everyone with the current national and international news.
Students presented a dance on a famous popular song – ‘Jean Petit qui dancer’. It is about Jean Petit (John Little) who dances with different parts of his body. Body language is an integral part of any communication. One of the best ways of expressing feelings, emotions, thoughts and ideas is dance. Dance uses the entire body to depict all these aesthetically. The foot tapping number presented by the students, entertained and educated the audience.
The Principal of the school lauded the students and their French teacher, Ms. Aboli Kulkarni, for the novel presentation.
