The beginning of school is a milestone in every child’s life. One enters the portals of education at the age of three and spends 12 – 14 years there. These are the most crucial years as what one learns during them shapes the
personality and the future.
To mark this momentous life – the event for the Nursery students, Vidyarambha Sanskaar was celebrated at DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, LAVA on 18th June 2018. The first day of school is both, an exciting and anxious time for the child
and the parents. Moving from the familiar home environment to the unfamiliar school is a big step. Parents and the school want this transition to be a smooth one and leave no stone unturned to make this happen. The celebration began with the lighting of the auspicious lamp by Mr. Gautam Rajgarhia, the Director of the school and the Principal Ms. Anupuma Sagdeo. Verses from the Agni Sukta were chanted, for knowledge like the fire is always pure. Each child, with his /her parent’s hand to guide, wrote the ‘bijakshar’ of the family’s ‘ishtadevta’ on a slate with chalk. The school reverberated with melodious notes as Ganesh Stuti and Saraswati Stavan filled the air and the little ones held a ‘lekhni’ - writing instrument and wrote. Everyone present – parents, teachers and the staff prayed for a propitious beginning.
Palm printing, Rhyme time and a puppet show kept the tiny tots engaged and enthralled. The parents too participated with enthusiasm. This helped break the ice and also reassure the parents.
